Role Overview:

As a Commercial Underwriter in our pipeline, you’ll be an essential part of our underwriting team, tasked with delivering exceptional services for our Australian market clients. When demand arises, you’ll be responsible for:

Core Responsibilities:

Financial Goals:

  • Proactively minimize cancellations and achieve retention targets.
  • Contribute to reducing overall expenses while ensuring operational efficiency.

Client Relations:

  • Engage with stakeholders, ensuring all communications are accurate, timely, and professional.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, brokers, and internal teams to contribute to client satisfaction and business growth.

Business Processes:

  • Uphold high-quality standards across all processes, including general inquiries, new business, renewals, and re-brokes.
  • Analyze client portfolios, assess and request quotes from insurers, and provide clients with necessary documents and information.

Documentation & Filing:

  • Maintain accurate records by filing documents electronically and physically, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Retention & Cancellations:

  • Follow retention processes and manage cancellations in the system with accuracy.

Essential Requirements:

  • Technical: A stable fibre internet connection with a backup solution for loadshedding.
  • Time Commitment: Availability to work between 04:00 – 12:30 (AUS market time).
  • Location: Based in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa with occasional in-person connections.
