Role Overview:
As a Claims Consultant in our talent pipeline, you’ll provide top-tier claims support and administration to our stakeholders in the Australian market when the need arises. You’ll be vital in ensuring brokers meet business objectives while maintaining high standards in claims management and adhering to company procedures.
Core Responsibilities:
Financial:
- Proactively minimize claims and associated expenses.
- Contribute to reducing overall business expenses.
Client Relations:
- Deliver precise, timely, and professional communication with all stakeholders (clients, account executives, insurers).
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Keep clients updated on claims status and contribute to achieving client satisfaction goals.
Business Processes:
- Uphold company quality standards and comply with regulatory frameworks across all claims processes.
- Oversee claims administration, from receiving claims notifications to ensuring adherence to procedures and timely resolution.
- Ensure accurate application of policy terms and conditions, and maintain up-to-date records in internal systems.
Claims Management:
- Assess claims validity, estimate values, and manage within mandate limits.
- Forward claims exceeding mandate to insurers and obtain quotes for required services.
- Ensure timely approval and payment of claims costs in line with coverage.
- Serve as the intermediary between insurers and clients, ensuring clear communication and timely updates.
- Manage recovery processes and follow up on claims progress.
Learning and Growth:
- Adhere to company mandates and participate in special projects.
- Contribute to continuous performance improvements and share insights with the team.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities and report any suspected fraud or misrepresentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualifications: Matric or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience in claims support with a strong understanding of claims management, ideally in both Personal and Commercial Lines.
- Location: Based in Cape Town or Johannesburg, South Africa with occasional in-person connections.
